We are very pleased to announce that Hearts in a Box is now a verified Amazon Smile program charity!
Not familiar with Amazon Smile? It's a great fundraising program offered by Amazon to non-profit organizations. Charities, like us, sign up for the program and go through a verification process. After being vetted and approved by Amazon, shoppers who use a special Amazon Smile URL can select the charity from a list of all participants. When they log in to Amazon Smile and purchase items that are tagged as Smile Donation Eligible, Amazon contributes 0.5% of that purchase to the selected charity. It's that simple ... and that powerful.
Hearts in a Box would love to be your Amazon Smile charity of choice. How do you get started? It's easy!
- Go to Amazon Smile using this special URL: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/81-1372161.
- a. If you don't use Amazon Smile already, you'll see this page. Just use your regular Amazon username and password.
b. If you already use Amazon Smile and want to change your charity designation to Hearts in a Box, you can click the dropdown arrow next to your designated charity, then search for and select us from the list.
Even if you forget to sign in with the Amazon Smile URL, Amazon will remind you when you log in and give you a chance to switch.
If you're not already sold on Amazon Smile, here are some comforting thoughts:
- There is no additional cost to you and the prices you pay are the same as you would normally when shopping Amazon.
- You don't have to remember to do anything but sign in with a different URL to shop.
- The Amazon site you use for Smile is the same Amazon you know and love. When using the Smile URL, you'll often see this "Eligible for Amazon Smile donation" designation on the items you want to buy. These are the items that will generate donations automatically to Hearts in a Box.
